Srilanka Railway Guard Booking Roster

This project was done on the request of our friend who works as a Railway Guard. After he told us to do something about their problem, we went to meet their union members and had a meeting with them to discuss their needs. The main problem they face was that their daily assigned schedules were made on the railway head office manually every day and it was displayed on their notice board. So, each employee had to visit the maradana head office in order to check their daily assigned trains and schedules. Also, they have to search for several papers to do that.

So, we created this website so the employees can check their daily schedules online using their mobile phones. All the data of the employees and the train data was stored in a database so the head office can easily create daily schedules much faster than manual scheduling.

The website has two main components which were Admin panel and the employee panel. From the admin panel, the head office can maintain the database of the employee’s trains and all the other data. Also, the daily schedule can be created using this admin panel.

The second part was the employee website. from this website, users can log in to view all the assigned trains, daily schedules and history of the schedules.
