Low cost 3D Printer

This 3d printer is completely made out of recycled parts from old printers. We collected these parts from an E-waste recycling plant situated in Kelaniya. only parts that we bought were the parts for the Hot end, Extruder, Arduino and the motor controllers. Even the power supply was an old broken one which was repaired by us.
The main software that runs on the Arduino is the open source “Marlin Firmware” (which was modified according to our needs) which is used on the rep rap 3D printer.
All the motors, Belts, Pulleys and sliders were collected from old printers. The chassis was built using Wood and the Printing bed area was about 30*30 cm and the max height of a print was around 30cm.
Total cost for this printer was around 3000 and it was able to print out decent 3d models.
This version is not the final model and we are planning to printout the parts for this 3d printer like belt mounts, motor mounts that are necessary to build more quality prints using this 3d printer.
